Perspective Matters
How you perceive things initially, really influences how you will work on and be impacted, by them.
Philippians 4: 8,9 (The Message Version): "Summing it all up, friends, I'd say you'll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things TRUE, NOBLE, REPUTABLE, AUTHENTIC, COMPELLING, GRACIOUS -- the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things, to curse. Put into practice what you've learned from me, what you have heard and saw and realized. Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies." Wow. Here in two verses, is my theme. It is interesting that I am sometimes seen as a person who only sees the bad things to come, and yet, this is probably more foundational to me. I believe it is important to be realistic about the future, and be careful, but I also believe my approach into something is to focus on the above verses. They prepare me to see positive options where I might not have before. As such, I think that prepares me for how I want or desire to live through the situations in which I find myself. Try it yourself. And, enjoy listening to the radio after July 1.
Each one of us has unique stories to tell about how we got to today from yesterday. These stories explain who we have been, who we are, and where we are going. Here are some of mine.
